He was known as a Great Stalwart of the Te Awamutu Golf Club - Lew Mace sadly passed away peacefully on Saturday 16 October in Tauranga.

 

Lew was a keen golfer and administrator of the Club. Life Member Lew was Club Captain in 1963 and 1964 and then President of the Club in 1972 and 1973. 

 

Lew's daughter Averil said "Te Awamutu golf course was a very special part of Dad's life and we as a family, are glad that he will be remembered each year in the veteran's competition for his "Claret Jug" trophy".
